Polls In Texas Show Support for Marijuana Legalization

This year several polls and surveys have been commissioned
in Texas on the subject of
marijuana legalization and decriminalization and the conclusion is that the
majority of Texans are for the legalization of the drug. Right now marijuana
carries a $2000 fine and up to six months in jail in the State of Texas
but change may soon be on the horizon as States start to explore their options.
Many people nationwide including doctors and scientists have shared their opinion
on the use of medical marijuana, many stating that patients should have access
to the medical benefits that marijuana provides. Legalization would take it out
of the hands of gangs and cartels making its production and distribution a safe
and profitable industry. The nation was blown away earlier this year when
legalization through
referendums took place in Washington and Colorado. Nationwide poles have also shown that the majority of
Americans are for decriminalization and the majority of Texans according to
these new polls suggest they would support the change as well.
