Three New States Legalize Marijuana Use

Dank, plants, news, legalization.

Alaska, Oregon and Washington D. C. Legalize Marijuana.

The time has come for change and not the kind that your president boasts about. Three more states have spoken and have legalized dank for recreational use. Alaska , Oregon  and Washington D. C. voted to legalize marijuana earlier this month. This is surely a step in the right direction one which has many people getting excited for what’s to come, others concerned about how it will effect neighboring states. See Article

One of the many debates going on right now over the new change in law is the domino effect, could this be a fork in the road both leading to happen endings, on one side, state by state the rest of the country follows, or the other side where we could see a change in federal law? People are looking to 2016 for answers and many groups are working diligently to make further progress, such as the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) MPP Website.

CNN reports that "In Oregon, the law legalizes personal possession, manufacture and sale of marijuana for people 21 years of age and older."

This is similar to Colorado's approach to the change in law. We are coming to a point in time where more and more people no longer consider themselves to be criminals for marijuana use. The revenue that will come to these states will no doubt be a kick starter to their local economies, unclogging the justice system and making room in jails for real criminals.

Growing, Legalization, States, PlantsCNN also reports "Alaska's law is similar to Oregon and would tax and regulate the production, sale and use of marijuana, making the use legal for people over 21 years old. Washington, D.C.'s proposal, while scaled back compared to the others, allows for a person over 21 years old to posses up to two ounces of marijuana for personal use and grow up to six cannabis plants in their home. It also allows people to transfer up to one ounce of marijuana to another person, but not sell it." CNN Article

As well as the boost to these states economies from sales, tourism is suspected to bring in thousands of people as it has done in both Colorado and Washington. Bringing in business and jobs. One thing is certain nothing can stop the momentum that this kind of resource can provide. Things are looking up for dank smokers in America and it makes me proud to know that some people have good sense (sensi).
