The US House is attempting to block marijuana legalization in Washington, DC after 70 percent of voters voted to legalize pot last month in the state. The US House is using a "spending bill" to help block marijuana legalization in DC. The appropriations bill says in one of its sections "prohibits both federal and local funds from being used to implement a referendum legalizing recreational marijuana use in the District."

Many states have already legalized weed for medical use including Washington, DC. Not prosecuting these marijuana cases would save the state a ton of money so it is no wonder that the voters voted for the legalization. The US government needs to get on board with what is already starting the change the nation.
