Texas has been a state known for its strict southern style of governing but a new bill introduced a few days ago by Texas Rep. Joe Moody could lower the penalty for small amounts of marijuana in the state of Texas. Lowering the penalty to a $100 civil fine similar to a traffic ticket. Although this is not legalization or complete decriminalization it is an important stepping stone towards those ends. Avoiding arrest and conviction of a crime goes a long way when you consider they are throwing our sons and daughters to the wolves over what should have never been illegal in the first place.
